Kennedy Anniversary 09

Today was the 46th anniversary of the assasination of John F. Kennedy. Each year a unique group of people come out, all seemingly out of their own interest in what happened. There is the Sixth Floor Museum to visit, but mainly I think people come to hear people talk about what happened, many authors come out to talk about their books. The men in the last photograph were present during the shooting and were kind enough to let me talk with them and photograph them a few time. I have a few rolls of 6 x6 images shot with a Hasselblad that I'm excited to have processed, and will definitlely be posting them when I have them scanned.

Dealey Plaza

The Kennedy assassination which took place in Dallas at Dealey Plaza in 1963 is especially fascinating to me because of its proximity to where I'm living now. Oswald was arrested at the Texas Theater on Jefferson Blvd. a few miles from my house, and the part of Dallas where the shots rang out is close as well. After living here eventually you drive over the spot Kennedy was shot so many times you don't even think about it, but it's always been an interest of mine to somehow work on a project involving the area around Dealey Plaza. These photographs which I shot a few weeks ago are the first attempt at working on this idea.

Dallas Tilt Shift

I've enjoyed photographing on the streets of Dallas for a few years, it's a unique city and has some beautiful architecture and a great skyline. Recently I had a weekend to go back and take some new photographs, these are my favorite.
